I searched Cannell library catalog and could not find any relevant books! On my subject none zip zero. There were three titles found when i searched Jewish and censorship but none of them were relevant to the topic. Of censorship of the Jewish religion.

The Search term i used in summit catalog is Jewish and Censorship. I found Recommendation whether to confiscate, destroy, and burn all Jewish books : a classic treatise against anti-semitism, by
Johann Reuchlin

Reuchlin, Johann. Recommendation Whether to Confiscate, Destroy, and Burn All Jewish Books: A Classic Treatise against Anti-Semitism. New York: Paulist Press, 2000. Print.

The location of the book and call number is.

Seattle Pacific University, Seattle University, University of Washington Libraries,Western Washington University,Whitman College and call number is 43919782

I really am not finding in the book section what i really want in any book. I went with this one because i was trying to show that i know how to research but the truth is it's not exactly what i need for the overview or history of the problem. But rather an addendum to.

Okay to tell you the truth i have many times stumbled upon the many labeled tabs page of additional fields and still i have no idea how to use or manage them. The handouts and tutorials aren't cutting it on this one for me. I will not use additional fields Sam I am, i will not use them with a fox, i will not use them on this box, i will not use them Sam I am. :-)
Jewish and censorship in google bo`oks alloted me 152,000 results of books with those words related within them . I chose a book called the encyclopedia of censorship; the censorship of Hebrew texts.
Green, Jonathan. The Encyclopedia of Censorship. 2. Facts on File , 2005. Print.

To tell you the truth what i took away from this unit this week is that i am not as good with the databases as i should be. That i have many excuses why i shouldn't have to be studying. But here I am. I am gone all week and just started a full time job. So my summary is that i havent given myself the proper time this week and need to do some more in depth tutorials on using the additional fields and targeting research. On reputability and other subjects.

  1. Hi, Donald:

Thank you for your honesty and efforts. When searching book catalogs, you either have to know exactly what your subject heading is(structured language, library of congress set heading)or use broader terms to find related works. I'm not surprised we didn't have a book on your specific topic, it's rather esoteric for a community college, and your best bet would have been searching for history of censorship and maybe finding a small chapter or reference to your topic. IT Pro is pretty advanced and not necessarily the way to search. When you can search full text of a book, you will get a lot more results, it doesn't mean they are more relevant then a subject search. These book catalogs are a bit less forgiving then the article databases we will look at soon.

    Thanks,
    Andrea
