I have chosen this scholarly journal because it talks the history of the church censoring the Jewish religion and culture. It goes in depth n to the subject and is written for its scholarly approach.
1. I have chosen to use this article because of the lack of articles pertaining to my subject this touches breiefly on the censorship of jewish religion by themselves and this is what i am researching. And this is from a magazine article.
Vobejda, Barbara. "Why Censor Religion?; Left and Right Agree it Belongs in Textbooks." The Washington Post (pre-1997 Fulltext): 0. Apr 19 1987. ProQuest. Web. 27 May 2013 .
1. Now comes the newspaper article. The reason i chose this it broadly looks at the cenbsoring of religion and lays out arguments on both sides.
So in this exercise we created an annotated list, we researched through various databases the best articles we could find then gave a detailed explanation of why we chose them. This is funny because in my eng 102 i am also crating an annotated list with 10 sources and like half a page for each annotation. It was not fun nor constructive towards my goal s in college. Except one goal graduating that class.
Hi, Donald:
ReplyDeleteAs I may have previously mentioned, your topic may not be covered by the Clark College collection. You were able to find some relevant articles if you broadened your topic. One of the points of this exercise is to realize that different kinds of information are in different resource, newspapers and scholarly articles are written by and for different audiences. This can be a helpful lesson if you can determine the best information to answer your question and you know what resource contains it, saving you time searching through everything. The scholarly article you selected is a book review and doesn't include original research. I was hoping for ASPECT criteria, author's affiliations, extensive references, length of article, methodology described in abstract. I hope that what you learn in this class saves you a little bit of time in English 102.
Cheers,
Andrea
